It’s easy to close our Bibles + look around at our normal, average day... and compare.😒 While we’re washing dishes, David’s slaying giants. While grumbling over a workout, Deborah’s leading the charge into battle. And as we’re struggling over distance learning, Paul’s penning half the New Testament... in prison... WITH JOY. #yougottabekiddingme

THESE are supposed to be our examples? Like... for regular people?!

God knew we’d think this, so 1) James nipped it in the bud: “Elijah was just as human as us” (5:17) + 2) the 🔥 from Mt. Carmel was forged in the valley of famine + when we remember these Bible heroes BACKSTORIES instead of only their highlight reels?

Well, we can realize God’s fashioning fiery faith in our ordinary backstories too.💛
