armor of God study
Kicking off our Spiritual Gifts study! Since half the video is frozen (but the audio is good throughout), you'll have to view this one more as a podcast, and I'll just make the mental note to never do a live again at my kitchen table. Apparently, my WiFi doesn't reach that far!
All in all, here’s a breakdown of what was said:
—Write down some specific ways you’ve felt pinned down, defeated or under attack.
—2 Kings 6: We are echoing Elisha’s prayer, “Lord, open our eyes and help us see!”
—In Ephesians 6, Paul didn’t ask for God to give the Ephesians the armor. No, in Christ, it was already given to them… likewise, in Christ, it’s already ours. Let’s now familiarize ourselves with it!
—One scholar observed, “Ephesians has proportionately more than 55% as many verses directly related to prayer” as Romans, Paul’s longest letter. Victory in spiritual warfare is inseparable from prayer!
All in all, being a believer doesn’t give us immunity from life’s struggles + the enemy’s arrows—but it does give us access to the Father + His armor. The key is realizing you’re connected to more spiritual brawn than what’s coming against you… so today, we start with vision. “Lord, give us the eyes to see + the ears to hear!”
Thanks all for joining—excited to dive in throughout the weeks ahead!
P.S. If you want to give your testimony this month, we’d love to hear it! Email me: thismotherhen@gmail.com.
